About me
Jess is a former middle school band educator turned freelance performer and private saxophone teacher in the Boston area. She has a passion for video game music and jazz. She performs live to full ballrooms on the main stage at VGM conventions with the bands The OneUps and Tournament Arc (debut album released 2024). She develops educational curriculum and entertaining musical programming, as well as facilitates jams for attendees at large conventions like MAGfest and VGM Con. Jess also performs in the Boston area with the brass band Magnificent Danger at venues like Jersey Street at Fenway Park, and the Anime Boston main stage. She is the assistant conductor of the Boston-based saxophone ensemble The Saxyderms and has been a member since 2013. Jess is the musical director and lead tenor saxophonist for the all-female-identifying big band the SheBop Swing Orchestra, bringing together women from all across New England since 2023.
